Chef Lenore Pinello hosts the ultimate cooking class for couples, “Be My Valentine,” on February 14. Equal parts instruction and noshing, her demonstration dinner will feature a twist on the classic surf and turf. Learn to make flatbread with Creekstone Farms prime petit beef fillet with caramelized onions and a Cabernet reduction, a “heart beet” salad, and butter-poached Maine lobster with lemon herb tagliatelle. An indulgent chocolate torte with raspberry sauce makes for a sweet finale.
3.The Cooper, Palm Beach Gardens
Learn to make shakshuka with chef Adam Brown of The Cooper. On February 2, Brown will share the deep history of this showstopping brunch dish wherein eggs are poached in a tomato, chili, and onion sauce. He’ll also explain how to prep and cook it, and conclude the class with some samples.
4. Vic & Angelos, Palm Beach Gardens
Take a lesson in Italian cooking at Vic & Angelo’s PGA Boulevard location on February 23. Executive chef Alain Zimmer will teach guests how to cook a fresh mozzarella rollatini stuffed with piquante peppers, prosciutto, and arugula, topped with a pomegranate glaze. 5. Nani’s Dough, Delray Beach
Self-taught baker Nani Edry’s doughnuts have achieved cult status for their brioche-level of fluffiness. At his Delray shop, Nani’s Dough, he typically offers doughnut classes twice a week and ventures into savory courses as well. On February 12, he will lead lessons in making beef Wellington, a specialty he’s mastered. Students will learn how to replicate this wow-factor dish at home with basic equipment.
6. Brulé Bistro, Delray Beach
Leading up to Valentine’s Day, Brulé Bistro will offer a series of “foodgasm” cooking classes on the popular dishes that will be included in its prix-fixe dinner on February 14: lobster pappardelle on February 11; hamachi crudo, crushed avocado tostada, and jumbo asparagus with smoky speck on February 12; and crispy duck breast and banana bread pudding on February 13. Foodies will sample and sip as they watch a demo from chef and owner Suzanne Perrotto.
7. Prezzo, Boca Raton
When Prezzo reemerged on the dining scene last year, it brought with it the famous brick-oven pizzas that made the restaurant so beloved in the ’90s. Kids will be able to learn how to make these ‘zas in a festive heart shape at an hour-long pizza class on February 9, where they will receive a chef’s apron, hat, and certificate of completion. 8. Loïc Bakery Café Bar, West Palm Beach
Bake with one of the best, Loïc Autret, as he instructs a Valentine’s-themed class on strawberry fruit tarts with strawberry “tuxedos” on February 15. Autret also regularly hosts classes for children and on a number of other French delicacies, too.
