3 Instagram Friendly Homes

There’s no place like home, so it makes sense to make it your own by dressing it up to suit your whim and fancy. It doesn’t hurt if it ends up being Instagrammable either. To send some inspiration your way, our friends at L’Officiel Singapore take you into the cribs of some of their favorite tastemakers, each brimming with so much character – just like the ladies of the house.

We’re not going to lie – we were expecting a lot from this soon-to-be mother of two’s house. She is, after all, the founder of Roomorama, an online booking platform that links travelers to stunning, professionally-managed accommodations around the world, meaning she’s got a good eye for interior design. Teo’s home is like a sanctuary, full of earthy tones, wood, natural light and lush flora. A perfect balance between minimalism and maximalism – clean walls and floors in one room and a massive black wood bookshelf filled with vintage knick-knacks in the next – the entrepreneur’s house is eclectic without being loud, underscored by a zen allure.

“My husband is an avid photographer. We have photos from our travels and portraits of our family all over the house”

“I love minimal, clean spaces and simple lines on my furniture, but it’s always fun to add colour and dimension with fun cushions.”

“The beautiful vintage Lettera typewriter was something my father-in-law found in his store room.”

Yoyo Cao (@yoyokulala)

We couldn’t leave our ambassador out of the list now, could we? Like her signature, widely-followed style, Cao’s crib is part-minimal, part-quirky with a dose of the unexpected. The color scheme is pristinely white with rhythmic touches of red, whether it’s a pattern on the wall or a striking ornate chandelier. As one would imagine, her home is every fashion girl’s dream – fashion photography books by the TV, perfume bottles and accessories sprawled over tables, and a mini room filled with shelves and shelves of the dreamiest shoes.

“When it comes to colors, red is my clear favorite – it’s bold, vibrant and passionate. You’ll find pockets of it all over my house.”

YOYO_022a

“I love my mini and micro bags. They aren’t just great accessories – they work very well as decor, too!”

YOYO_029a

“There’s just something very photographable about a shelf of fashion coffee table books.”

Cream wool-blend turtleneck sweater, DKNY. Crepe trousers, Lee’s own

Jaime Lee (@jaim)/(@thepaperbunny)

Lee’s home is perhaps best described as hipster Brooklyn café meets 1960s Manhattan apartment. In other words – very Instagrammable. Authentic vintage furniture and Don Draper approved colors are mixed with grey brick walls, shadeless bulbs and framed typography art prints created by Lee for The Paper Bunny, a local boutique stationer she co-founded. You’ll also find interesting trinkets around the house – spools of twine, cheeseboards, candles, ornate tableware, the like – that have made cameos in her widely-liked Instagram flat lays.

“Our home is based loosely on that mid-century, Mad Men style, so you will find a lot of Woody vintage furniture with pencil legs and fabric seats with piping.”

JAIME_164a

“The ‘This is Home, Truly’ print is from The Paper Bunny, created for SG50!”
