August 8-11: Romeo and Juliet

The Maltz Jupiter Theatre will stage a student production of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet August 8-11. The tragic tale set in Verona, Italy, follows two teens from feuding families who find themselves in the throes—and eventual downfall—of love. Written between 1594 and 1596, Romeo and Juliet was an instant success in Shakespeare’s day and continued to gain popularity in the centuries that followed. Performances are scheduled for August 8 and 9 at 7:30 p.m., August 10 at 2 and 8 p.m., and August 11 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 for students and $25 for adults. For more information, click here.

August 9: Chicago Rewired

The City of Boca Raton continues its Summer in the City free concert series Friday, August 9, with the Chicago tribute band Chicago Rewired. Doors are at 6:30 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chair or blanket, and chairs will also be available to rent on-site for $5. August 9: Screen on the Green

Join the City of West Palm Beach Friday, August 9, for an alfresco screen of Captain Marvel as part of its monthly Screen on the Green series at the West Palm Beach Waterfront. This free event on the Great Lawn will start at 6 p.m. with family-friendly activities.
