January 3-5: New Play Festival
Kick off the new year with Theatre Lab’s New Play Festival January 3-5. Head down to Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton to catch six new productions, including Refuge by Andrew Rosendorf (January 3, 7:30 p.m.); The Night Before by Dan Clancy (January 4, 12 p.m.); Overactive Letdown by Gina Montet (January 4, 3:30 p.m.); The Woods by Jahna Ferron-Smith (January 4, 7:30 p.m.); An Afternoon of Short Plays (January 5, 12 p.m.); and Last Night by Rachel Lynett (January 5, 3:30 p.m.). January 5: Swank Table
Join Swank Specialty Produce for an alfresco dinner on the farm in Loxahatchee Sunday, January 5. The evening’s Swank Table event will begin at 4 p.m. and revolve around a “Throwback to the ’70s” theme. Guests will enjoy a meal by chefs Aaron Black of PB Catch, Clay Carnes of Cholo Soy Cocina, Jimmy Strine of the Trophy Room, and pastry chef Sara Sipe of The Regional, among other. January 5: The Symphonia
The Symphonia will present “A Passion for Italy,” another installment in its connoisseur concert series, Sunday, January 5, at Roberts Theater at St. Andrew’s School in Boca Raton. Guest conductor Carolyn Kuan and guest violinist Daniel Andai will join The Symphonia for a program that includes Clarice Assad’s Suite for Lower Strings, Joseph Haydn’s Concerto for Violin in C, and Felix Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4.
