March 7: Evening on Antique Row
The Historical Society of Palm Beach County’s signature spring fundraising event, Evening on Antique Row, will take over South Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach on Saturday, March 7. Attendees can shop the area’s fine antiques, enjoy live entertainment, and savor delicious bites from nearby eateries, all in support of the Historical Society’s efforts to preserve Palm Beach County’s legacy. March 7-8: Waking Kya
Catch a production of Waking Kya, a moving one-woman play inspired by trials female refugees face, at the University Theatre at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton Saturday March 7, and Sunday March 8. Nigerian-born actress Linda Obasi stars as Kya’s sister, Abeba, and as several other characters to tell the story of the traumas endured and overcome by Sierra Leonean women in refugee camps. March 11: The Color Purple
The Tony-winning revival of The Color Purple will make a stop at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach Wednesday, March 11. This Broadway treasure tells the story from Alice Walker’s Pulitzer Prize–winning novel about a young Southern woman’s hard-fought journey for love through some of the most powerful jazz, gospel, ragtime, and blues music to ever hit the stage.
