October 17: “Nearly” Nude Runway Show
Now through November 2, the Lighthouse ArtCenter in Tequesta is exploring the evolution of an ancient art form in “Tattoo: The Renaissance of Body Art.” The special exhibition boasts original art by Ed Hardy; photographs of tattoos; vintage flash tattoos from primitive, tribal, and modern cultures; antique tattoo equipment; and contemporary 2-D and 3-D tattoo-inspired works, many of which are available for purchase. On Thursday, October 17, the Lighthouse ArtCenter will present a complementary “Nearly” Nude Runway Show featuring garments by Bosha Stone designed to accentuate tattoos. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m., and tickets cost $50 in advance. For more information, click here.
October 18-19: Zac Brown Band
Musician and songwriter Zac Brown has taken his “Chicken Fried” philosophy to the top of the charts, and he’ll share it with West Palm Beach audiences at the Coral Sky Amphitheatre October 18 and 19. The Atlanta native established his eponymous Southern rock group in 2002 and, after six years of living the starving artist life, found commercial success in 2008 with his breakthrough album, The Foundation, which sold more than 5 million copies and earned the Zac Brown Band a Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Since then, Brown and his band have ridden the wave of success, to include genre-defying collaborations. Last month, the band released their latest album, The Owl, which represents an evolution for the group, one Brown has described as raw and unexpected. Click here to find out more.
