We’re constantly on the lookout for new labels. It’s what keeps the world of fashion refreshing and exciting. Why? Because fledgling labels have historically been the ones to push the needle. They come with a new mindset, forcing those stuck in their ways to evolve in order to keep up. But in 2021, it feels like there’s a new label every day, so the tricky part comes in sorting through which ones are worth your time (and money).
We’ve been stanning three burgeoning labels pretty hard lately. In fact, they make up a good portion of our summer wardrobes. All founded since 2019, these three labels have survived one of the hardest periods for any brand in history — a baptism by fire that has forged three confident young names.
Blue Sky Inn, Formy Studio, and Velour Scars are by no means the only young brands we’re supporting right now, but if you’re looking for a quick wardrobe refresh and to draft some young bucks into your league then they’re a strong place to start.
Founded in 2021, Blue Sky Inn is — for all intents and purposes — a brand new label. Dig a little deeper, though, and you’ll find out that the brand is founded by a collective of fashion professionals. You’d probably have guessed that from the refined finish of the brand though. Take the materials which are all sustainable and organic or the fact that it’s part of the 1% for the Planet pledge which means that it donates 1 percent of its annual revenue to environmental causes.
Bold graphics and relaxed cuts define Blue Sky Inn’s debut collection which dropped earlier this year. Amongst our favorite pieces is a shorts & shirt combo which features a hyper-realistic shadow print, as though you were kicking back under a palm tree.

Formy Studio is one of Milan’s most exciting exports lately. Headed by designer Domenico Formichetti, it’s another label that looks to bold graphics to make its mark. And, much like Blue Sky Inn, Formy Studio is not Formichetti’s first foray into fashion. Having founded FOMO, a label that grew thanks to Formichetti’s connections in Italian rap, the designer was prepared for his next step. Already endorsed by J. Balvin, Quavo, and more, it seems that Formy Studio is set to blow.
Formy Studio’s latest collection is inspired by the work of artist Marco Petrus. Psychedelic patterns informed by the skylines and buzzing streets of Italian cities set the tone for the Atlas Collection which boasts a host of highlight pieces.

Velour Scars began life as a research studio where vintage garments were screen printed to give them a new life. From there, its founders began to work with organic and recycled materials to create their own collections that retained a sense of pre-wornness.
A natural dyeing process stands at the core of Velour Scars’ output. Each garment is characterized by an authentic vintage feeling thanks to washed-out hues and retro graphics. The label’s pastel-powered Spring/Summer 2021 collection is a statement of intent for what looks set to be a very bright future.
