If you haven’t yet had the time to go visit the new breathtaking distillery for The Macallan, located at Easter Elchies estate in Scotland, get a foretaste by popping by Singapore’s very own The Macallan Boutique @ 1855.
A first of its kind, the downtown boutique is parked at a cosy nook of the just-completed Marina One. It’s a co-op between Edrington Singapore, the drinks behemoth who owns The Macallan, and premium wine and spirits retailer 1855 The Bottle Shop.
Around 500 sq ft of space has been designed to become a hub for fans to get educated, explore and experience. It’s a game changer, no less, for consumer-centric concept-spaces.
Here are 5 features of the new space that perfectly illustrate the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship and perfecting visitor experience.

1. Take Flight
As with all journeys on a jet, it should start with a sip or two — or three — of whiskies. Right at the store-front, a gleaming-black tasting bar greets guests where an experienced bartender is ever-ready to guide you through a flight tasting of The Macallan trilogy of 12 Years Old, which are the Sherry Oak Cask, Double Cask and Fine Oak Triple Cask Matured. You can also savour other editions too. All you have to do is ask.
2. Look Up
Whereby ceilings in Singapore are less ornate and often overlooked, best to tilt your head up when stepping into The Macallan Boutique @ 1855. The boutique’s modish-rustic wood-carved ceiling is a reflection of the upper interior of The Macallan’s new distillery in Scotland, which has been dubbed an architectural wonder and structural masterpiece.
3. Photo Op
When you finally venture further in, round the corner of the boutique is The Macallan’s current exhibition of The Masters of Photography series. So far, there’s been six collaborative whisky expressions between the brand and renowned photographers and a seventh may soon join this illustrious display at the end of this year.
4. Special Stock
Shop The Macallan’s extensive range of whiskies and exclusive merchandise, from scented candles to branded glassware, writing materials to the highly sought-after ice ball makers. You can also purchase limited edition releases like The Macallan Edition No. 3; Classic Cut; and even The Macallan 50 Years Old, among the finest and rarest expressions by the brand and only limited to 200 bottles worldwide.
Though the current star of the boutique is the newly unveiled The Macallan 72 Years Old The Genesis Decanter in Lalique crystal. It is the distillery’s oldest whisky ever released, with only 600 bottles. This liquid gold will be available for purchase starting next month at select locations around the world.

5. Puff Away
Sharing a secluded whisky and cigar lounge with The Spot, the sister multi-concept dining space of 1855 located next door, The Macallan Boutique @ 1855 affords visitors to indulge to the nth degree. As the rolled bundles of dried and fermented tobacco are the ultimate bedfellow of whisky, we foresee plenty of nights spent by fans in this hot spot.
