Fitness centers, valets, swimming pools: high-rise living in New York City are known for its perks, but 63 Wall Street might have trumped them all.
Along with the usual list of luxury amenities, the complex also comes with its own residents-only speakeasy.
Life at 63 Wall Street is coloured with a myriad of facilities that includes a fitness center, screening room, roof terrace with grilling area, and game room with golf simulator that today’s renters.
However, a dramatic, residents-only speakeasy is a brilliant new addition to the apartment complex, as well as the New York rental scene. The residents-only lounge looks like it came straight out of the 1920s, as the hidden gem draws from the building’s historic heritage with rich wood paneling, original brass chandeliers, and authentic Victorian oil paintings. The interior is further accentuated with a mix of modern pieces such as custom-made banquette and bold ceramic tiles.
The showpiece of the room is the custom-made bar. Crafted from Calacatta Paonazzo marble and antique brass, the piece offers a pleasing contrast of dark and light, of historic and modern.
Although the facade of the apartment is characterised by its classic historical details, there are also various designs incorporated to best complement modern living. Homes by The Design High, which also designed the amenities, come in studio through three-bedroom floor plans, all featuring hardwood floors, large closets, and granite countertops. Most of the units also offers a beautiful view of the downtown skyline.
