Popular beach destination Bali will play host to Como Hotels And Resorts‘ latest beachside resort on its south coast. Opening in February, the Como Echo Beach will be the group’s third property on the island and will boast 119 accommodation spaces, including rooms, suites, one- and two-bedroom residences, and three-bedroom duplex penthouses. Other than being located at Canggu, one of the best surfing spots in Bali, the resort will also close to the Seminyak district. Those seeking Como’s signature spa treatments, you won’t be disappointed because the property will cater for a Como Shambhala Retreat where guests can enjoy Asian-inspired therapies, yoga and Pilates classes, and personal training in the gym. And for avid surfers, this resort has partnered up with Tropicsurf to offer opportunities for both beginners and experienced surfers.
2. The Sukhothai Shanghai

Sukhothai hotels will be launching its second property come March. The Sukhothai Shanghai, located in Nanjing Road, is a masterpiece of the renowned Neri & Hu. Walk into its guestrooms and suites, and you’ll notice the use of unique custom-built details enriched by natural handpicked materials. Additionally, the hotel boasts in having amongst the largest rooms in the city, with each one ranging from 44sqm to 172sqm. 3. Ayana Komodo Resort, Waecicu Beach

Home to Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Labuan Bajo was once a small fishing town that has since grown to become a bustling tourist spot. And come summer 2018, the location will be welcoming this five-star resort at Waecicu Beach. Equipped with 12 suites and 189 premium guest rooms, Ayana Komodo Resort, Waecicu Beach will also launch a nine-bedroom phinisi ship that will be available for charter around the island for two or three nights per trip. Other amenities include six F&B spots, two swimming pools and a children’s pool, the Resort Spa, gym and kid’s club.

4. Mövenpick Hotel Sylhet Bangladesh
Opening: Third quarter 2018
Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts is rapidly expanding its presence in South Asia and this hotel will be one of three properties in Bangladesh alone. Setting up in one of the country’s main commercial and tourism centres, the Mövenpick Hotel Sylhet Bangladesh will be equipped with 210 rooms and is located just minutes away from the Sylhet Osmani International Airport. Facilities at the hotel include a rooftop infinity swimming pool, spa, fitness centre, tennis court, bowling alley and 12,600sq-ft of retail space. And to cater to the growing number of business travellers, the hotel will also be equipped with a business centre and the city’s largest meeting rooms.
5. Pullman Tokyo Tamachi
Opening: Fall 2018
Upscale hotel brand Pullman Hotels & Resorts is establishing its first footprint in the Japanese capital. Set to welcome guests next fall, the Pullman Tokyo Tamachi is part of the MSB Tamachi mixed-use complex and will feature 143 rooms, meeting facilities and dining concepts. If you choose to travel around by public transport, the hotel boasts a well-connected travel network, being located at the JR Tamachi Station east exit and is only a three-minute walk from the Toei Subway Mita Line. Even to the Haneda International Airport, it’ll only take 30 minutes to get there from the hotel.
6. Six Senses Fort Barwara
Opening: Late 2018
Talk about a place with rich history. Six Senses is opening its latest hotel in India on the site of 700-year-old fort in the village of Chauth ka Barwara, located 110km from Jaipur. The structure of the fort, which was constructed in the 14th century, will be preserved and protected by a team of conservation experts, with the Six Senses Fort Barwara hotel to feature 48 suites, two restaurants, bar and lounge, a spa and fitness centre, two swimming pools, banquet space, retail boutique and kids club. For those keen on adventure, the property will also offer daily safari drives into the Ranthambore National Park, which is home to a variety of wildlife the likes of tigers, leopards, wild boars, langurs and sloth bears.
7. Mandarin Oriental Qianmen, Beijing
Opening: 2018
It’s the hotel group’s first Mandarin Oriental Hotel in the Chinese capital. Located within the Qianmen East Hutong Quarter, the Mandarin Oriental Qianmen, Beijing will be within walking distance to some of the city’s major attractions, including Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven. On site, the property will comprise traditional courtyard houses connected by narrow lanes and alleyways. The hotel will also feature a variety of dining venues within the hutong courtyards, with leisure facilities including a spa, indoor swimming pool and fitness centre.
