Spreading Christmas cheer isn’t the worst job to have. Just ask the folks at Miracle, the pop-up cocktail bar with more than 75 locations promoting “the nostalgic energy of the best office party you’ve ever been to.” This season, Death & Glory will present an explosion of Christmas decor and 10 holiday cocktails designed by Joann Spiegel and Manhattan bartender Nico de Soto at its Delray Beach location and a new outpost in CityPlace. “I must have made dozens and dozens of Run Run Rudolphs,” says Spiegel. “The final drink was a happy accident that was just delicious.” —M.S.
Run Run Rudolph
1 cinnamon stick
1 clove
1 Indian long pepper
Paprika
1 Swiss Miss Milk Chocolate mix packet
1 oz. Espolon Blanco Tequila
1/2 oz. Galliano Ristretto Coffee Liqueur
Whipped cream
Cinnamon cacao dust (two parts cacao powder to one part cinnamon powder)
For the cold hot chocolate, crack the cinnamon stick and clove and toast in a saucepan until aromatic. Add water, Indian long pepper, and a pinch of paprika. Lower the heat and add Swiss Miss mix; simmer and stir for 5 minutes. Do not allow spices to steep too long. When mixture cools, strain and store in refrigerator. Add tequila, coffee liqueur, and 6 oz. of hot chocolate into an ice-filled Collins glass. Top with fresh whipped cream and cinnamon cacao dust.
