As September came around, the three-Michelin-starred chef Arnaud Lallement and Champagne Armand de Brignac debuted their collaborative new tasting menu at the five-star Relais & Châteaux hotel L’Assiette Champenoise in France’s Champagne region. As the first ever culinary experience to bring together Champagne Armand de Brignac’s five prestige cuvées, this gastronomic debut is certainly worth the journey.
Throughout the five courses French dishes such as Langoustine Royale and Pigeoneau Fermier will be paired with Champagne Armand de Brignac’s Gold Brut, Rosé, Blanc de Blancs, Demi Sec and the particularly rare Blanc de Noirs of which only 2,333 bottles exist; the inaugural blend of this champagne was named the Best Blanc de Noirs in the world by FINE Champagne Magazine.
The collaborative dinner was inspired by the long friendship held between the 13th-generation winemaker Alexandre Cattier and the celebrated chef Arnaud Lallement who was named Chef of the Year in 2014 by Gault et Millau. The menu reflects their shared passion for French fine dining and the art of winemaking.
The tasting menu can be booked on its own or as part of a luxury stay at the hotel, inclusive of one night’s accommodation in a Terrace Suite, breakfast, luxury transfers from Paris or Reims and a behind-the-scenes tour of Champagne Armand de Brignac’s winery and historic chalk cellars, which are normally closed to the public.
The tasting menu is priced at $602 per person. The exclusive hotel package is priced at $3,012, based on two people sharing. assiettechampenoise.com
