Women fashion has always been the talk of the town. What’s so special about the store?
As the name goes, Oceedee is equal to perfection. With a perfect balance of design and comfort, we at Oceedee offer women shoes that not only express everything she is or wants to be but also are designed by her. They are a punch to her power.
This year Oceedee marks another milestone with the launch of its first pop-up store at DLF Mall of India, Noida. How has the experience been?
We are quite excited and thrilled to enter our third year with another big milestone – our first offline store at DLF Mall of India, Noida. In last two years that we have been online, we have garnered immense customer appreciation and loyalty. Being a young footwear brand we always wanted to have a hybrid model where our online and off-line experience centres both offer our customers the best shoe shopping experience. People are particularly happy knowing we offer customization as well as sizes that range from EUR 35 to EUR 42. These two are definitely strong differentiators for our brand as compared to other players in the market.
What was the idea of doing a pop-up and why DLF Mall of India
Retail is completely different from online. It was indeed a very big business decision for us, but given the journey of the brand, it was the right one to take. Having been online all this while, the strategy was to explore the market with a pop-up store. It helped us explore and establish our retail language, test the product while being present amongst world’s best brands and most importantly understand the needs of the market.
From online to brick and mortar establishment, what is the next expansion plan?
We are very happy to see the smooth journey the brand has taken and the appreciation we have received. The way forward focuses on establishing a strong retail presence across India through Oceedee’s experience centres. The idea is to offer customers a premium shoe shopping experience with personalized services to choose the shoe to its ultimate perfection. Along with Pan- India expansion, we are also looking at taking the brand to the international market.
What is the concept of ‘3D Shoes Design Studio’?
We launched Oceedee with a simple thought of offering women the luxury of getting shoes that are unique to her in the way she desires them to be. The journey began with an idea of having an online platform, a 3D shoe designer that allows women to customize their shoes in color, heel style, height, and leather of her choice, making it truly exceptional. It is a simple and fun platform to select and customize from our capsule collections or design your shoes. It offers more than nine billion unique combinations using close to 250 styles, 50 leathers, and 13 different heels. It allows women to envision their masterpiece, personalize it, and preview their own creation before ordering their perfect pair.
How did the international presence happen?
In our short journey, we have showcased our collection at FDCI’s India Couture Week and Lakme Fashion Week. We have collaborated with designers such as P.E.L.L.A, Kanika Goyal, Kaleekal and designed exclusive shoes for their collection. These collaborations presented a great opportunity for us to showcase our creativity and designs on a bigger platform and our work was validated by the best in the fashion industry. The road to global ramps opened with our collaboration with a leading name in the Indian and International fashion circuits, Rahul Mishra for his Paris Fashion Week. The overall experience of working for such a huge platform was exhilarating. Not to mention, the kind of response we have received for our brand post these events have been quite heart-warming. This March was our fourth season walking Paris Fashion Week in collaboration with Rahul Mishra.
The whole experience of interacting with designers made us realize that a lot of designers do want to add shoes and accessories that complement their collection, but due to limited resources or lack of partners, this becomes quite challenging. Keeping this proposition in mind we reached out to several designers and in the process connected with American designer and Project Runway winner, Leanne Marshall for her SS’18 collection showcased at New York Fashion Week, September’17.
