During a recent video shoot at Mont Rouge, Jessica Jann tells us what a typical day in her households is like.
What was your first apartment like?
My first apartment in Hong Kong was with my sister, and it was great because we’d never really lived together by ourselves before. We’d always buy flowers from the flower market to add a bit of colour and pop.
What’s the best thing that happened to you this month?
I’ve been cooking a lot more at home. And I’m a terrible cook so this was a really big challenge for me, but I made a coq au vin.
What’s a go-to dish when you have guests over?
Kenneth, my husband, is really good with steaks. So we have a barbecue. For me, I make a really good burrata salad.
What’s one thing you’ve kept from your childhood?
I love family photos, so my grandparents, my mom, my dad, my sister. I’m very old school and I like to print them out and have them all throughout the house. And I like to keep a couple of photos with me in my journal.
What’s your favourite thing to do at home?
Netflix. I love watching TV and unwinding. I’m a serious homebody. I love unwinding and putting on a face mask and watching TV. Really simple.
What’s a show you would recommend?
I love watching comedy, though I recently watched this show called Behind Our Eyes, which is a psychological thriller.
If you could invite anyone over for dinner, who would it be?
My grandma definitely, who’s obviously in LA and I haven’t seen her in more than a year. I used to fly over multiple times throughout the year to see her.
A perfect weekend is when we can sleep in and eat good food. Just spending time with each other

What’s your favourite cocktail?
Gin and tonic, or anything with yuzu or citrus. I prefer gin over vodka. But I love trying new cocktails.
Can you tell us a bit about your new home?
I really love our home and we moved in about a year and a half ago. It’s very cosy and comfortable and we have a lot of windows so it’s always really sunny inside, which makes me feel very happy. I love our rooftop. I love coming home and just feeling super relaxed.
How would you describe your taste in interior design?
We like bright and nude colours, a lot of white and beige. But I also love teal and light blue. So I have a lot of blue pillows and I put them everywhere. Our guest room at the moment is this light teal colour, and though it’s not in line with the rest of the house it’s actually one of my favourite rooms.
Bigger wardrobe or bigger kitchen?
Ooh, that’s tough. I think bigger wardrobe.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I love San Francisco. I’ve always loved Napa Valley. I also love the Maldives – it would be awesome to live by the ocean. One or the other.
Describe a perfect weekend.
A perfect weekend is when we can sleep in and eat good food. Just spending time with each other and with our family and friends.
If you’re going to a house party, what are you going to bring?
Definitely a good bottle of wine.
