Last week, Neiman Marcus’ Garden State Plaza location hosted a fashionable afternoon in collaboration with The American Friends of Soroka Medical Center–Israel’s premier healthcare institution. The benefit luncheon was highlighted by an invite-only runway show by Israeli designer, Rickie Freeman, from her signature brand Teri Jon, specializing in day-to-dinner dresses.
The benefit was organized by co-chairs Mindy Gale (Gale Branding) and Jackie Koby with an aim to raise funding for Soroka Medical Center. To support, guests took part in an afternoon raffle for limited edition artwork by Aspen-based artist Marc Bennett (valued at approx. $4,000). The original Marc Bennett is part of the artist’s The History of the Star of David series, which explores the emblem’s history over 18 detailed images.
In addition, 10 percent of all Teri Jon purchases at Neiman Marcus go back to support Soroka Medical Center. “It is such a pleasure to partner with the American Friends of Soroka Medical Center,” Rickie Freeman said, following the fashion show. “Anyone who has visited their campus knows what a special place it is.”
Executive Director for American Friends of Soroka Medical Center, Rachel Heisler added: “Soroka Medical Center serves Israel’s most diverse population, numbering 1.2 million, living in the Negev region. The generous support provided by Neiman Marcus, Rickie Freeman, and our committee members allows us to provide unmatched healthcare services to our community regardless of income, race, religion, or politics.”
Soroka Medical Center, located in Be’er Sheva, Israel, is currently the only aid center in the fast-growing region of Negev. Soroka Medical Center’s efforts serve over 1.2 million people, which includes a demographic of 400,000 children.
