In 2019, The North Face joined forces with London designer Christopher Raeburn’s eponymous RÆBURN for a collection of upcycled bags made from defunct TNF tents. The second chapter of this partnership landed last month as RÆBURN introduced a range of panda backpacks, this time made from irreparable The North Face jackets. On July 15, you’ll have access to another capsule collection in the second of two strictly limited drops. After a sold-out first drop, Zalando Plus members will have the best chance of copping thanks to Zalando Plus Early Access.
The North Face RENEWED allows customers to buy repaired and reassembled pieces from the label in a bid to extend the lifespan of The North Face garments. This mindset fits squarely with that of Christopher Raeburn whose label is defined by its penchant for upcycling to such an extent that it won The Fashion Awards in the Environment category in 2020.
As these two titans in their respective fields connect at the intersection of renewed and recycled garments once more, we’re being treated to a limited capsule consisting of hoodies, shirts, and pants, as well as accessories from hats to bags. Using old The North Face products, the skilled hands at RÆBURN have crafted a range of unique pieces typified by a patchwork of references and recognizable elements. Raeburn notes, “Our mission at RÆBURN is to change the world through responsible design – for the collections with The North Face Renewed and Zalando Plus, we took the idea of upcycling even further. Each piece from the limited edition collection is completely deconstructed and reassembled by hand. Each piece is unique.”
You’ll be able to bag the limited-edition, 11-piece The North Face RENEWED capsule exclusively in the Zalando Plus program from July 15. Be sure to sign up now to experience enhanced membership which now includes Plus Early Access; ideal for getting your hands on limited drops like this one.
