Roman Abramovich, billionaire and the owner of English Premier League football club Chelsea FC, is selling his private jet — a Boeing 767-300ER.

Also known as “Bandit” due to the black stripe painted around the cockpit window that resembles a mask, the private jet was initially built for Hawaiian Airlines and was set to join its fleet in June 2003. However, the airline cancelled the order and Abramovich purchased it instead. The passenger plane was then converted into a business jet.

The jet comes with anti-missile systems similar to those used on the United States’ presidential transport VC-25s — which are military versions of the Boeing 747-200B.

The aircraft can seat up to 34 passengers and has chestnut furniture and panels with gold-plated trim. Its rooms include a master and three guest bedrooms, a master and two guest bathrooms, a dining room, living room, library, galley area and pantry, crew and staff rest areas.

The aircraft was designed by Andrew Winch, an English yacht designer, and is currently operated by private air charter company Global Jet Luxembourg, formerly known as Silver Arrows.

It is now being offered on sale for an estimated price of US$100 million as Abramovich has purchased a new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.
