For fashion model Aditi Mishra, it’s been a decade in the modeling industry. A journey that started with the Miss India pageant, slowly took shape in the form of a full-time model and afterward, there was looking back. Today, Aditi is not only a model, but a wife, a mother, a daughter-in-law, and a working woman, who has learnt the art of balancing from her mother, who is serving Delhi Police till date. In a quick chat with TMM, Aditi recollects her journey and her dream project that is yet to happen.
How and when did modeling happen to you?
I participated in the Miss India pageant in 2011 and from there it started. Honestly, modeling was never on my list of dreams, I think it happened naturally, because post pageant, while I was still discovering my other interests, I started getting calls for modeling and ramp shows. My mom gave me the confidence to go with the flow and I gave it a shot. In May 2011, I joined Elite Modeling Agency and I guess they gave me the comfort to stay in the industry forever.
Tell us about your fitness routine.
In the morning, I do stretching, followed by breakfast and then I go for my Pilates session 5-6 days a week. I feel that fitness has a lot to do with discipline and ever since I have been in this industry, I try to be as disciplined as possible to keep myself fit and energetic. Here, the camera captures every detail of yours, so it is important to be mentally and physically fit.
For a model, skin and hair care is inevitable. How do you keep your skin and hair healthy?
My go-to healthy skin and hair secrets are oil and water. Once the shoot is over, I do the primarily cleaning and back home I do the proper removal and then moisturization to keep the skin healthy. I make sure that I drink 10-12 glasses of water daily and post-shoot applying hair oil is a regular activity that I have been practicing for the last 10 years.
You are a mother too. How do you create a work-life balance?
For me, my work-life balance is totally dependent upon my family. Honestly, my mother-in-law is my biggest support. She takes care of my daughter and over a period of time, they both have developed a beautiful bond (touchwood) that keeps me tension-free at work. My mother works for Delhi Police, so I have grown up seeing her creating the perfect balance and that’s why when I became a mother, after 50 days of delivery I was in front of the camera.
On days when you are not shooting, what keeps you busy?
I love to be home and spend time with my daughter and family. I also try to pay attention to my body and make sure that I eat, drink, and sleep well for my overall well-being. And I love playing badminton, so my evenings are often dedicated to the badminton court.
For every model, there is a dream project. What’s your dream project like?
It’s been a decade in the modeling industry and like any other model; my dream is to work with Sabyasachi Mukherjee. I have walked for his fashion shows, but I am really looking forward to be a part of his campaign shoot in future. I guess that will sum up my biggest dream as a model.
