I'm not a huge fan of snow, in fact I hate it. We usually just get a light dusting annoying enough to stop all public transport but not enough to have fun in. We've had an ok amount the past couple of days, but nothing that gets me all excited about diving into it. So I thought I'd share my favourite year for snow, 2009. It was pretty epic, mainly because I could dive head first into it and it was so thick I didn't hit concrete!
2009 was also just after we moved back to England from Australia, and we were temporarily living right in Guildford town centre while our house was being finished, so at around 6am on the morning of the snow, my brother and I ran onto the cobbled high street that was up to our knees in snow! It was SO much fun! Here are some photos of our adventures of what we got up to (including some super cute puppy shots of Dylan sledging!)
My brother in the snow...his hair froze and had icicles on it!
Yeh, I sat on the snow bench, my bum was rather cold after. And as you can see, my Ugg boots were caked in the stuff! |
Later in the day my best friend and I went to the garden of the empty house next door to her. No one was living in it at the time, the side gate was open, and we thought 'what a waste of fresh snow!' so we demolished said snow...
Our colourful wellies!
Eating the snow...gosh I was a mature 17 year old!
We then went to a random car park and sat down in the middle of it and ate creme eggs in the snow...just because we could.
Later in 2009 we got Dylan, and when the snow arrived again in the December, he had great fun playing in it!
We even took him on the sledge, and he LOVED it!
Have you been enjoying the snow?
