German shoe label Adidas has launched a new environmentally friendly program called Sport Infinity, according to Women’s Wear Daily.
Adidas will take used sportswear to create new products, breaking down and remolding footwear into 3D-shapeable material that will allow customers to come up with their own original shoes.
Customers will be able to personalize products, offering them the chance to become their own fashion designers.
Shoe lovers will have to wait to begin creating their own shoes, however. Sport Infinity will not be available until the 3-year development phase has ended. The European Commission is funding the Sport Infinity initiative.
