Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez’s Engagement Party Was Full of ‘Family and Close Friends’

Celebrate good times, come on! Yeah, that’s what we would be singing had we gotten invited to Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez‘s engagement party on September 28 — but luckily for us, A-Rod shared some sweet photos from the night to tide us over. “So great celebrating with family and close friends last night. ,” the 44-year-old captioned the cute pic of himself with his arm around his gorgeous fiancée, 50.

He also added a few cute snaps to his Instagram Stories. “Fun night with family,” he wrote over a candid shot of the couple with Alex’s daughter, Ella, and Jen’s daughter, Emme. The former shortstop then shared a second, special pic with Ella, 10 — and it was basically the sweetest daddy-daughter moment we’ve seen in a while.

Naturally, all of the couple’s closest pals were in attendance, like Jen’s BFF Leah Remini, who shared her own set of snaps from the joyous occasion. “#reunitedanditfeelssogood,” she captioned a series of three shots, the first of which being a cute selfie of the friends. She also shared a cute pic with her husband, Angelo Pagán.

We’re glad to see wedding plans moving along for this happy couple! The dynamic duo started dating back in March 2017 and have only fallen more in love since. They brought their kids together to create a beautiful blended family, too. Aside from Ella and Emme, 11, they also share Alex’s older daughter Natasha, 14, and Jen’s son, Max, 11.

The sweet couple got engaged back in March and the bride-to-be was thrilled to show off her incredible ring on social media. She shared a close-up photo of the duo holding hands on a beach during sunset, with her gorgeous emerald cut diamond on full display.

Since the engagement news, this is the first (public) sign of movement toward the big day. The singer just announced she would be performing at the Super Bowl halftime show in February 2020, so with the holidays and a big performance on the horizon, we could definitely see them holding off on a wedding for now.

Plus, an insider told Life & Style exclusively that the couple is looking into a private island (among other possible venues) for their nuptials and want the guest list to be stacked — so much so that Jen is actually cool with waiting it out. “Money’s no object whatsoever and she’s willing to wait if it guarantees her the ultimate guest list,” the source revealed exclusively. “She figures this will be her final opportunity for a princess-style wedding, so she wants to go out with the ultimate bang!”

All in all, we have only one thing left to say about this latest exquisite celebration — and a fan said it best: “I see my invite got lost in the mail again … 🤧.”
