Amanda Stanton Defends Her Daughter’s Bikini Photo: ‘I Don’t See How This Isn’t Teaching Body Positivity’

Mama on defense! Bachelor in Paradise alum Amanda Stanton got real with fans on Instagram when she defended a mirror selfie her daughter, Charlie, took in a cute bikini on September 21. Though several folks made their thoughts known in the comments, all the drama started when one follower expressed concern about the photo in the name of body positivity, saying it was “too much.”

“I have 2 daughters, 10 and 16. Let’s teach confidence and body positivity without this type of an image,” the fan wrote. “Amanda, I like you girl, but this is a bit too much.” The former Bachelor contestant, 29, didn’t quite see her point.

“I don’t see how this isn’t teaching body positivity and confidence. If anything, I think it is! And why I think it’s so cute,” she replied to the concerned follower. “She is 5 and has a cute little belly and doesn’t even know it and feels confident in her swimsuit about to go to the beach.”

She also remarked that she didn’t really understand the backlash, either. “I don’t get why everyone is making a huge deal of this post JUST because it’s a selfie rather than a parent posting a photo of their child in a swimsuit at the beach which I see all the time, you know?” she continued in her first comment.

Another fan was curious about the mom of two’s thoughts on potential creeps and unsavory characters who might have dubious intentions with the photo. “Are you not worried about people sexualizing this photo or pedophiles/predators? I’m not judging and think it’s an adorable picture, just curious,” the follower replied to Amanda’s response.

While she could empathize, the Bachelor Nation babe maintained her stance. “I get what you’re saying but I can’t control what a sick person might be thinking,” Amanda replied to the second fan. “We were at the beach today and there were kids running around naked, people post photos of their kids in the bath or at the pool, etc.”

“I understand there are sick people out there and I do everything in my power to protect my kids and keep them safe but I can’t let it take over my life to the point where I’m scared to post a cute photo in them in a bathing suit,” she concluded. And TBH, we can’t say we blame her on this one.

Way to stand your ground, mama.
