Andy Cohen Announces Newest ‘Real Housewives’ Franchise in Salt Lake City at BravoCon

Yeah, you heard that right! Bravo TV boss Andy Cohen just announced that the latest Real Housewives franchise would be taking place in Salt Lake City, Utah, during the “Ask Andy” panel at BravoCon on November 16. Get ready for The Real Housewives of SLC, baby, because they’re coming.

“We are very excited to travel to Salt Lake City, Utah for the Real Housewives of SLC,” the proud papa, 51, announced during a panel during day two of the big conference, moderated by his longtime assistant, Daryn Carp. “We didn’t see it coming.”

“I have to tell you, in Utah, you’ve got the majesty of the mountains. You’ve got the majesty of the Mormon religion,” he continued as he pitched the new franchise to the crowd. “You’ve got an exclusive community of people who have very successful businesses who live in their own universe. They hobknob with Hollywood stars who come to Sundance.”

OK, so, to recap: We’re getting a whole new franchise and it’s focused on an elite group of Mormon housewives. Honestly, it sounds like Bravo gold to us, don’t you think?

According to the press release for the exciting addition to the network, these “Type-A power-brokers are accustomed to rubbing elbows with A-listers and what party list you are on means everything. They have mastered running wildly successful enterprises by day and enjoy après ski at the finest resorts by night, all the while raising extraordinary and unconventional families.”

In fact, it seems like this franchise might even end up being one of the more dramatic ones. “Here perfection is not an aspiration, it’s a mandate,” Bravo dished about the cast, according to BravoTV.com. “They hold themselves and each other to an extremely high standard and never hold back when things go sideways, but lord knows they are always there for each other when they need it most.”

Plus, the show promises to “[take] viewers into an undiscovered world that is about so much more than religion, although the Mormon church is undeniably ingrained in the culture.” Sounds like this is the version of Sister Wives we never knew we needed, y’all — let’s hope we get a release date soon!
