Earlier this week Kanye West took to Instagram to share that he was living inside the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta to finish his upcoming album DONDA, and now the rapper has shared a new release date.
The album was previously set to release on July 27, but in true Kanye fashion, it was delayed. The rapper orchestrated a big listening party, running an excited audience through each of the tracks – many of them sounding more like demos than finished songs. The most surprising feature on the album was undoubtedly Jay-Z, who joined Yeezy for a verse on the album’s last song, “Guess Who’s Going to Jail Tonight,” and caused a social media frenzy.

Yesterday Kanye once again took to Instagram to share that the new DONDA release date will be August 5, with another album release event taking place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, kicking off at 9 p.m. EST. Tickets for the listening party will go live Monday, August 2, at 10 a.m. EST.
Lastly, the new album release event will also feature creative direction from Balenciaga’s Demna Gvasalia. Kanye was spotted at the designer’s Haute Couture show earlier this year, so who knows what the two have been working on.
Stay tuned as any more information surfaces, and fingers crossed the album will actually be dropping this time.
