Arcade Food Theatre – Lavish food hall Tōu sandos

Arcade Food Theatre London

Arcade Food Theatre is a newish lavish food hall at Centre Point Tottenham Court Road. Under one roof is an impressive lineup consisting these 8 names TŌU, Lina Stores, Pastorcito, Casita Do Frango, Flat Iron Workshop, OklavaChotto and Popham

Food halls are here to stay, my first ever experience was at Oriental City in Colindale which is now Bang Bang OrientalFood court halls are great for those in a group that just fancy eating different things. You can order away at the spot, get a buzzer and wait for your food. You sit anywhere as you please in the open-plan space.

Arcade Food Theatre

My advice is to head to Arcade Food Theatre around lunchtime during the weekday, it is less busy and the wait for food to be prepared is quicker. Most of the mains are at the benchmark of £10 onwards which can seem expensive for one thing.

Tōu

Now there was one particular place I wanted to try, the Sando sandwich that caused a frenzy. TŌU by tata eatery, there were many occasions I missed their pop-ups to get a taste of their sando sandwiches and I made do with visiting Monocle café in Marylebone (side pickles and crisps are free).

Tou by tata menu

The menu at Tōu is very basic with only 6 items, three different sandos, a rice bowl and two sides. The signature Iberian pork sando is a must with a hefty price tag of £14, but it’s worth every penny.

You can watch your sando maker in action preparing your order in front of your eyes. Chucking two slices of brioche bread to be toasted. Deep frying Iberian pork neck in breadcrumbs and thinly slicing up cabbage. Each side of the toasted bread is smothered in XO special sauce and the other slice with raspberry brown sauce. Once the sando is assembled the sando maker cuts the crusts off and the sando in half presenting it on a white plate.

Within a bite into the sando the potent XO sauce hits you first, a loud crunch into the cabbage and onions than the thick juicy Iberian pork and finally the sweetness from the raspberry sauce.
