Are You Winter Ready?

Winter is one of the toughest seasons in terms of weather, yet it is loved by many of us in India. It lasts from November through February, peaking between the middle of December and the end of January.

As a consequence of the coolness in the air, we tend to become sedentary on a daily basis, doing our best to cover up and stay home. Because we spend so much time indoors, our bodies’ capacity to fight illnesses deteriorates with time, and because of the gloomy weather, we tend to get into a depressive and dismal mood, which lowers our immunity.

Week immunity causes people to feel ill, fatigue, and feverish; they gain weight quickly, are more susceptible to colds and coughs, and experience joint difficulties. Despite the fact that we all continue to work on our immunity, the cold weather throws a lot of our schedules off as lethargy sets in.

I’d like to share some basic suggestions/healthy hacks with you in this post, which will help you increase immunity while enjoying the chilly weather.

Begin your day with a steaming cup of water steeped with Tulsi leaves, cinnamon, and ginger. This potent immunity tea will assist to cleanse the body of bacteria and toxins, as well as build a strong immune system. It can be taken with honey if desired, and 1-2 times per day is sufficient.

In the winter, we don’t feel thirsty, but it’s critical to consume fluids to maintain the body’s processes and organs hydrated for appropriate functioning since inadequate water intake can cause everything from gastrointestinal problems to a variety of fatal illnesses.

One may drink lukewarm water mixed with citrus juices like lemon and oranges, which not only quenches thirst but also functions as a natural anti-oxidant, nourishing our skin, hair, and keeping our bodies toned. It also promotes digestive health and flushes out toxins, making it a wonderful immunity booster.

Drinking fluids is not only beneficial to blood circulation but also keeps the stomach full.

Since the weather is gloomy during winter, melancholy and depressing states of mind increase, hurting everyone’s mental well-being and rising stress levels over time. Negative impulses can be stifled by engaging in pleasant activities.

  1. Take a 30-minute stroll, stretch, and absorb in the sun to get enough Vitamin D.
  2. Yoga and deep breathing techniques should be practiced.
  3. Watch comedy shows to keep your metabolism active and as for laughing therapy.
  4. Doing so will keep the brain engaged while also allowing you to keep your weight in check.

We consume more greasy and fried meals when the weather becomes colder. People tend to acquire a lot of weight at the end of the winter when they eat everything they want, which can lead to a variety of health problems. However, if we have an open mind and look about it, we will find that there are many more great dining options that cannot just take our place. Fluid consumption increases blood circulation and keeps the stomach full, ensuring that we are not only satiated but also that we eat a healthy and appetizing plate.

During the winter, fruits and vegetables are in full bloom. Green leafy vegetable intake should be maximized because most green leafy vegetables are not accessible at all times of the year.

Indulge in spinach in the form of soup, because spinach increases red blood cells, which work as a powerful cell to fight pathogens, act as an antibody, and improve immunity. Cabbage is another immune booster that prevents skin dryness. Consuming fresh fruits and meals with a combination of vitamin A, C, D, E, and antioxidants will boost immunity to a more healthy level.

Also, increase your fish intake because this is the optimum time to eat fish and fish is a natural source of Omega 3 fatty acids. Yogurt is a pre-biotic that also helps to keep the gut healthy. Include seeds in your daily diet as seeds are a good source of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and calcium. Chewing seeds is also a good approach to relieve tension and satisfy hunger.

Also, food should be cooked and consumed fresh, with a balance of herbs and spices in the diet, as spices and herbs are natural immune boosters and antibody producers. Avoid eating stale or frozen foods since they cause bloating and digestive problems. Salads made with beetroot and carrot provide a satisfying meal and aid with weight management. Ginger and garlic should be consumed as often as possible since they are natural immune enhancers.

Maintain a healthy weight by eating appropriate portions of meals and avoiding junk food. This will prevent fat accumulation and weight increase. Keep these hacks on your tips and enjoy a warm healthy winter.
