A new chapter. Ariana Grande reflected on where she is in life one year after releasing “thank u, next” and she’s definitely moving in a great direction. The songstress looked back on therapy sessions, time alone and the eventful year she’s had.
“Happy birthday ‘thank u, next,'” the 26-year-old began a lengthy tweet on November 3. “I can’t believe I’ve spent more time alone this year than I have in my life, I can’t believe how many sessions w [sic] my therapist I’ve had, how many times I’ve sung this song, how much I’ve learned and healed, how much I still have to learn and heal!”
The pop star split from her fiancé, Pete Davidson in October 2018, just four months after getting engaged. Her ex Mac Miller tragically died of an overdose one month prior. Needless to say, it was an unbelievably tough time for her.
However, Ariana continued to explain that the year was unexpected but she feels positive about it. “It’s been one hall [sic] of a productive, emotional, wild and yet … happy! year.” She also recognized the people whom she’s closest too, including her pets. “Thankful for my babies who have provided me with endless strength, energy and inspiration … and to my friends who have held me together on the road and at home. I’m sure they’re just as exhausted LMAO.”
The former Nickelodeon kid doesn’t claim to know it all but that’s OK. “Update: I still don’t know s–t ab [sic] love or have a clue what a personal life looks like other than hanging with pups and piggy which I’ve learned is … actually … more than enough!” she added.
“Thank u, next” was a huge hit for Ariana — both professionally and personally — and she thought it deserved to be recognized. “Anyway, not sure why this anniversary has made me ramble on so much but …. my heart feels good,” she concluded her series of tweets. “Even though everything is up in the air /I still have a million questions … I’ve accepted it and feel somewhat whole and that feels like something worth sharing. I guess. love u.”
Don’t worry, Ari, no one has it figured out completely. Keep slaying, girl!
