New York has some of the world’s most important museums in the world spanning a range of categories. Art buffs must visit The Metropolitan Museum of Art, which has more than two million works of art that spans more than 5,000 years and is across five stories. There are several important galleries — including costume galleries — that are incredible to see in person. The Museum of Modern Art celebrates more contemporary works in all mediums and is known as one of the most influential museums in the world to do so. At MoMA, there are works from Pablo Picasso, Henri Rousseau, Andy Warhol, Vincent van Gogh, Salvador Dalí and Henri Matisse, to name a few. Other art museums include the Whitney Museum of American Art and has art — including digital forms of art — in the 20th century. There are unique forms of medium from which to enjoy. Lastly, don’t forget to visit the Solomon R Guggenheim Museum, which has a permanent collection of impressionist, post-impressionist, early modern and contemporary art. The building was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and is a white cylindrical building with a gallery in the form of a ramp that is a continuous spiral from top to bottom. The building in itself is a work of art.
