In the largest exhibition ever of original works and limited edition screen prints by the controversial street artist Banksy, and curated by his former agent Steve Lazarides, ‘The Art of Banksy’ tells the artist’s story with more than 80 pieces of his works, displayed in rooms containing installations such as reconstructed London streets, underground Tube stations, living rooms, a taxi, and a recreated Banksy studio. We do love authentic street art here and we have a special place in our editorial calendar for Banksy in particular (basically we’ll take any excuse!).
The next stop on the tour for ‘The Art of Banksy’ is Melbourne, Australia, exhibited at The Paddock at Melbourne’s Federation Square. Showing currently until January 22, 2017, the exhibit will include a celebration of the Street Art Movement, a collection of works by local well-known and emerging street artists. The artists have been invited to design their own artworks on the walls within the exhibition enclosure and in the Circle Bar. Artists featured include Lucy Lucy, Kaffeine, Heesco, and Conrad Bizjak, just to name a few, and there will be entertainment by live DJ’s as well as food and drinks.
