Going back to school will never be as cool as it is when your educational institute of choice is L’Ecole Van Cleef & Arpels. The travelling school returns to Hong Kong for two weeks for the third time on September 16th at PMQ, and you can read our first-hand account of attending a hands-on class, From the Wax Project to Setting Techniques, in our upcoming September issue.
The curriculum this year is wider than ever, with a total of 10 classes available, six of which are brand new for Hong Kong. The classes, as always, are broken up into three categories: new options for Art History of Jewelry include Art Nouveau Jewelry and History & Jewels. For Savoir-Faire, there are three new courses: The Gouache in High Jewelry (two modules covering light and colour respectively) and Trying Your Hands at Japanese Urushi Lacquer. And finally, under The Universe of Gemstones, there is one new lesson on that pinnacle of precious stones, The Diamond, a Gemological Exception.
