Barsys, the avant-garde automated system for making cocktails and mixed drinks is the brainchild of Akshet Tewari who is the Founder and CEO of Barsys. The cocktail machine works through the Barsys app that is currently available for Android and iOS as well. The app has to be linked to the machine via Bluetooth. Explaining about the functionality of the new-age mixologist Akshet says, “The rear of the machine has caps and tubes that screw into soda PET bottles and from there you can have your aerated mixers, At the side of the machine are three mini missile silos into which special bottles fit. Into these bottles you can fill up your fruit juices, or sugar syrup or any other non-carbonated mixer.” He further adds, “Next you have to connect it with the Barsys app, that has a huge library of cocktails, and you can make the one of your choice depending upon alcohol and mixers.”
Calling it a user-friendly B2B innovation, Akshet mentions that the machine let’s you tweak cocktails to your taste by way of increasing or decreasing the measures. All you need to do is put the glass on the moving coaster and tap your phone and watch, as your cocktail is prepared.
“Barsys monitors the consumption patterns, pour quantities, and can notify the user for ingredients if they are running low. The app, stores all the data in the cloud and can be used to improve inventory management and develop data backed consumer insights. The system combines robotic hardware with cloud-based software to prepare your favorite cocktail faster than a bartender,” informs Akshet.
As Barsys has been designed with customization in mind, almost any kind of additive can be used to prepare your favourite cocktail, giving it the ability to prepare over 2000 cocktails or neat spirit drinks. The purpose of a perfect mixed drink is very precisely achieved with the help of complex algorithms used in BARSYS, each cocktail requiring a different algorithm. The machine controls liquor/cocktail pour sizes and ensures portioned drinks and cocktails. The pour sizes can also be configured without bounds for a distinct cocktail taste through an easy UI of the app.
When asked about the need for such innovation and its future, Akshet affirms, “Our idea is that a large population of less skilled bartenders can be complemented with an automated solution which is aesthetically pleasing & has an attractive, standardized, and efficient preparation method. In this new age very everything is digitally controlled, it will be fun and easy for people to get their perfect drink at a single tap with Barsys that comes in two variants namely Barsys Pro and Barsys Elite which has a six bottles holding capacity and five bottles holding capacity respectively.”
