Jerry Lorenzo continues to show his love of Barton Perreira via Fear of God with the launch of a second collection, complete with two new colorways.
When Jerry Lorenzo teamed up with luxury eyewear brand Barton Perreira last year on the FGBP.2020 collection, the goal was to celebrate a shared Los Angeles spirit through the lens of his favorite opticals.
The initial collaboration delivered five takes on a classic Wayfarer shape, each of which had undergone the signature Fear of God tonal color finish. A style created to mimic the pair worn by Lorenzo day-to-day, the design is all about no-frills and maximum quality.
For part of the collection, titled The Extension of 7th Energy: FGBP.2021, two additional colorways have been created in the same distinctly muted finish. This time around, the classic rectangular acetate frames both feature light gradient lenses. Both the “Matte Sand” and “Matte Taupe” pairs are understated, allowing the cratsmanship and quality to speak for themselves.
Although the collaborative glasses lack some of the flair you’ll find in styles from RETROSUPERFUTURE or GENTLE MONSTER, the dialed-back design and sophisticated color palettes give both pairs a luxury vintage aesthetic best described as timeless.
