My lazy to do brunch outings continues. For my transition from morning to not quite there lunch time. You may have seen me write about Daisy Green before, it was the time I had bacon with my frozen yoghurt. It sounds so wrong but tasted so good!
Since 2012 the Daisy Green collective have expanded and opened up more venues. I envied people photos of the Aussie style brunches they had at Beany Green and promised myself to go there one morning.
Recently I booked myself an early morning Modern Calligraphy class in Selfridges. More about that in another post and wanted to go out for breakfast/lunch before my class. I headed up to Liverpool Street to Broadgate Circus and managed to nab a seat by the window. Unless you pre-booked there are very few seats that are free in such a tiny establishment.
Service was extremely slow and it was hard for me to grab the attention of the staff, they saw me waving about but ignored me. I made up my mind and went for The Bondi, they ran out of Matcha Green tea so a fresh orange juice it was.
Once my food arrived I was pleasantly pleased with the amount of food on the plate. It was the first time I had charcoal sour dough toast, piled on top a decent back bacon, two poached eggs, with a side of mushrooms, sausages, half an avocado and homemade chilli presto. The meat quality was superb and it was very filling. Squeeze a bit of lemon on everything for that sharp taste. Satisfying my needs of avocado and meats, a truly scrumptious brunch, it tasted really healthy compared to the usual greasy cafes I go to.
I defiantly go back in a heartbeat and cannot wait for my travels to Australia to try out more Aussie breakfasts.
