Dress up in your favourite vintage frock and get down to Betty Blythe. Betty Blythe vintage tea rooms is the go to place for some tea and cakes. Located by Hammersmith and Olympia area admire the 1920’s vintage style interior and pretty bone China tea-ware but it’s the actual tea and cakes that’s worthy to spend all afternoon there.
Moderately priced, a pot of fragrant tea costs only £2.50 and there’s plenty of selections to choose from. Each time I head there I choose something that goes with my mood. Cakes varies on each visit, displayed proudly on crystal glass cake stands. I do adore their super moist red velvet cakes, and caramel surprise Portuguese custard tarts.
Downstairs is often noisy as they throw private tea parties, currently there’s the Alice in Wonderland, Gatsby, Betty Blythe and traditional themes. Some days I see black frocks hanging along their walls. It’s for their customers to play dress up. The tea also sells products from biscuits, books, snacks, drinks to purchase.
Betty Blythe is my usual spot to spend my lunchtimes with workmates over gossip and the staff there are lovely. Will be trying one of the afternoon tea packages one day.
