Next time you’re considering using AIRBNB to book accommodations in Boston, consider a cheaper option: A five-star hotel.
After looking at the median cost of booking an entire property for two to four guests from June 1 to December 31, 2014, GoEuro.com found that Boston was the priciest of 150 cities surveyed for Airbnb listings.
An apartment or studio in Boston runs on average $273 USD a night. Boston is followed by Cancun, Mexico; New York, Dubai and Macao.

Boston, which has a number of universities in the area, has seen a 63% increase in Airbnb listings since July 2013, according to the Boston Globe.
New York, as you’d expect, was on average the costliest city for hotels and hostels, according to GoEuro’s Accommodation Price Index.
Budget-conscious travelers may want to consider destinations like Tirana, Albania, Hammamet, Tunisia and Sofia, Bulgaria, which are the most affordable cities for accommodations, averaging $33 to $36 overall.
A room at a five-star hotel in Tirana, for example, costs roughly £56 ($88).
