Bottega Veneta to present new Home Collection during Salone Del Mobile 2018
Furniture aficionados and visitors to the upcoming Salone del Mobile will get a close up look of Bottega Veneta’s new Home collection presented at Borgospesso 5, and a showcase of a special scenography conceived by Creative Director Tomas Maier.
Held in April, in Milan, the presentation will feature new styles, functions, materials and colours for both furniture and home accessories. Among them, the seating collection has been expanded with both new families and variations of the existing ones, featuring unusual details, as well as new colours and materials. They were shown in a sneak preview at the opening of the Maison flagship on Madison Avenue in New York at the beginning of the year.
In an innovative concept called The Apartment, located on the top floor of the Maison, Bottega Veneta furniture and home accessories are displayed to mirror a living space, along with a selection of fine art and books curated by Maier.
A particular highlight of the new collection is in the lighting category: three new styles of a bronze chandelier created in collaboration with jewellery designer Osanna Visconti di Modrone. They are made with a lost-wax technique to echo the intrecciato weave. This marks the second collaboration between Maier and Visconti di Modrone, following the set of bronze tables presented in 2016. A large version of the chandelier is featured in The Apartment at the Maison in New York.
Bottega Veneta launched its first Home collection in 2006. It was a natural evolution for the brand from luggage and accessories via the use of the same luxurious materials, individualistic sensibility and meticulous craftsmanship expressed in signature elements, such as the intrecciato weave, supple skins, elegant and functional hardware and rich hues.
