Breaking New Paths: Tanya Sinha

tanya sinhaTanya Sinha, Miss Globe India 2021, Glamanand Supermodel India knows how difficult it is for every small town individual to mark a space in the world of glamour and that’s the reason, she wants to bridge the gap and break new paths with her success to make it easier for future generations. In a chat with TMM, Tanya talks about her journey and how important is it to learn the art of saying NO in professional life.

How and when did modeling happen to you?
I was 17 when my mom pushed me to participate in a local beauty pageant with the thought that I would win. Unfortunately, I didn’t, but the experience of being on the stage taught me that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. And since then, there was no looking back.

What makes an individual a ‘good model’?
As an individual, I always strived for perfection, but now after a couple of years of experience, I believe that a good model is someone who accepts her imperfections and is always ready to learn and grow. The day you think you know everything, you block the road to success.

Share a glimpse of what all went into preparation for Glamanand Supermodel India.
The opportunity I was waiting for actually happened during the pandemic and it was a tough task to balance my physical and mental health. But, as they say, where there’s a will, there’s a way, so I did it. Every day I used to make a checklist of goals to achieve-right from my ramp walk to my fitness, and at the end of the day, I used to calculate how far I managed to achieve and the next day push myself harder.

Anisha SharmaFor every model, being fit is very important. What is your fitness routine?
I have a sweet tooth, so at times fitness calls for extra hard work for me. And when it comes to achieving my dreams, there is no shortcut. During the pandemic, when gyms were shut, I made a small setup at home and used to work out religiously to be in shape and with time I realized that it helped me in my mental well-being as well.

One good thing and one bad thing about being a model.
The good thing about being a model is, that your work gives you a lot of opportunities to travel and travelling helps widen your horizon and make you learn a lot about culture and food. Personally, the bad thing is that being a foodie, I have to often give up on some really delicious foods, as my profession demands to be fit and in shape.

Modeling calls for hectic work hours. How do you create a balance between your work and personal life?
The basic rule of work-life balance is to learn to say NO. It often happens that to please others and be in the circuit, you push yourself and compromise on your personal space. With time I have learnt how to say NO in a polite manner and then I prefer to give my body that much-needed rest. Also, to rejuvenate my mind, I try to spend time with family and friends, as and when I get time from my regular routine work. All this together keeps me sane and helps me perform better as a professional.

When it comes to your beauty regime, one desi nuskha you swear by and why?
At an early age, my mom suggested me to apply besan (gram flour) and haldi (turmeric) on my skin and since then, this combination has been my go-to solution for anything related to my skin. I am so addicted to this combination that even when I am travelling for work, I carry a small bottle of both to keep my skin nourished.

What are your future plans in the modeling industry?
I come from a humble background and I know how difficult it is for people from small cities to mark a space in the glamour world. I want to be that guiding force that will inspire many other talented people to step ahead and live their dreams without any fear or inferiority complex.
