It’s that time of year again, when the community comes together to raise awareness and funds for those stricken with breast cancer. Below are a handful of local events to consider participating in this month, and beyond.
Oct. 5: Susan G. Komen South Florida California Pizza Kitchen Event
Eating pizza for a good cause? Yes, please. From 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., you can dine at the California Pizza Kitchen in the Boca Town Center Mall and 20% of your check will be donated directly to Susan G. Komen South Florida.
Oct. 6-27: Ann Taylor BCRF Shopping Event
This year, Ann Taylor will donate 10% of entire in-store purchases from 5 p.m. to close (and all day online) to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. So hop online or stop in at your nearest store and shop the newest collection.
- Event re-occurs each Thursday through October (Oct. 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th) at all local stores
Oct. 22: Every Boob Counts 5K Run/Walk
The Every Boob Counts Foundation will host a Breast Cancer Awareness 5K Run/Walk on October 22 from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a portion of proceeds benefitting Susan G. Komen South Florida. Click here to register.
Oct. 26: Saks Fifth Avenue Key to the Cure
Enjoy a day of shopping at this annual all-day event to raise breast cancer awareness with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Susan G. Komen South Florida.
Oct. 28: Fit for the Cure
Stop in at the Macy’s in The Gardens Mall on October 28 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. to celebrate the 16th anniversary of Wacoal’s Fit for the Cure program benefiting Susan G. Komen. For every woman who gets a professional bra fitting at an event, Wacoal will donate $2 to Susan G. Komen (no purchase necessary). Wacoal will also donate $2 to Komen for every Wacoal bra, shapewear item or b.tempt’d bra purchased at these events.
