Leading international luxury designers Falguni Shane Peacock unveiled ‘Marry Me in Jaipur’ their new couture offering at the virtually hosted India Couture Week 20/21, via a self-directed fashion film ‘Spectacle Privé’ that was shot at St. Regis, Mumbai.
“With the rapid growth of visuals on social media, powerful new formats of digital communication, expression, and consumption of creative concepts have emerged. The purpose of our fashion film ‘Spectacle Privé’ at ICW 20/21 was to present an artistic showcase that recreates the reverie as the excitement from live runway shows moves to a new narrative” said Falguni Peacock.
“Spectacle Privé” took viewers behind the scenes to witness the intrinsic effort put into every aspect of creation presented in each look. “We used this democratic, new platform to present our inspirations and to tell the stories of our design concepts and how couture comes to life for us. Join us on this journey, wherever in the world you are!” added Falguni.
The collection ‘Marry Me in Jaipur’ is heavily inspired by the rich tapestry of heritage, culture, architectural marvels, abundant flora and fauna of the marvel that is Jaipur – ‘The Pink City’. Each design unveiled is proof of how the city fuels the creative ingenuity of Falguni Shane Peacock. Each drape presents an element of Jaipur percolated in its creative vision. With this collection, Falguni Shane Peacock made a big foray into the traditional bridal segment for the very first time and showcase bridal statements in classic red – a color that is immensely significant to the Indian bride.
“We are excited to see the coming together of fashion and technology with ‘Spectacle Privé’. It’s almost surreal as physical barriers are disrupted and the runway gives way to a rail track leading into five different mood boards. Bollywood’s famous celebrity stylists have been given the liberty to look at this new form of creative expression with an unvarnished lens to interpret our couture differently and yet stay true to the style signatures of Falguni Shane Peacock”, added Shane Peacock.
The film also featured Shraddha Kapoor in a gorgeous bridal red, raw silk lehenga with fuschia pink and emerald green silk metal thread work details. The lehenga was embroidered in gold and adorned with crystals, stones, beads sequins and floral motifs, elephant motifs, and baroque detailing. The ensemble was styled with a handcrafted blouse with grid work and a red tulle dupatta with scallop borders and tassels.
Stylists Shaleena Nathani, Mohit Rai, Aastha Sharma, and Tanya Ghavri featured in ‘Spectacle Privé’ with models Dayena Erappa, Reha Sukheja, Vartika Singh, Suman Rao amongst others, and directed by Falguni Shane Peacock
