British Airways Business-Class and First-Class Get ‘Suite’ Upgrades

British Airways has recently introduced a series of updates to its business-class and first-class cabins – and this year it will add its first A350 Airbus to the fleet complete with these new changes in July.

New business-class seat

British Airways’ business-class cabins will get entirely new suites, called Club Suites, complete with a suite door and direct-aisle access. Not only do these Club Suites allow for more privacy and easier service interaction, the seats go flat in a 1-2-1 configuration. These business-class suites will also have a vanity unit and mirror, an 18.5-in screens and USB power for easy charging. This new seat will launch in July with the delivery of its first A350 from Airbus.

First-class fliers, there’s something for you, too: First-class seats will receive completely new bedding, amenities and menus. Amenities include luxury loungewear from London-based Temperley London, beauty products from British skincare brand, Elemis, and Ultra Smart Pro-Collagen range and bedding from The White Company. curated Everyone will get to enjoy the plane’s wellness-focused features, such as reduced noise, high ceilings and ambient lighting. Afternoon tea will also be served with pastries and scones for first-class passengers.

Higher levels of humidity on the plane are designed to help guests experience less jet lag upon landing. By 2020 (thanks to a £6.5 billion investment), an additional three A350s will enter British Airways’ fleet, and its two Boeing 777 aircrafts will receive the business- and first-class cabin upgrades.

Sliding door feature

“Each new suite has direct aisle access and comes with a personal door,” says Alex Cruz, British Airway’s chairman and CEO. “We’ve worked hard to ensure every aspect of the Club World experience from the lounges we’ve refreshed, to the new gourmet menus from Do&Co on flights from Heathrow, and the luxurious bedding we’ve introduced from The White Company exudes the very British style and quality customers expect from us.”

Not only will these updates enhance your flying experience, rest up in luxury at JFK’s new Club Lounge in Terminal 7. This revamped 21,527-sq-ft lounge features two spots to grab a drink: Quaich Bar and Brewdog.
