Bromance Alert! Adam Levine (Sort Of) Admits He Misses Working With Blake Shelton on ‘The Voice’

If you’re a diehard fan of The Voice then you already know that former coach Adam Levine and Blake Shelton didn’t exactly see eye-to-eye. In fact, based on all of their playful bickering, some viewers may have even likened them to frenemies. That said, during a preview of Adam’s Monday, October 7 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the Maroon 5 frontman, 40, basically admitted that he misses working with the country crooner, 43.

“I really do miss it. I love the people that I met and worked with and obviously, we all know how I feel about Blake,” Adam laughed. OK, so he’s not exactly hardcore pining after Gwen Stefani‘s longtime beau, but we’d still love to see the pair reunite.

Blake Shelton, Adam Levine Perhaps Blake can stop by Adam’s humble abode for a visit — after all, that’s where he’s spending the majority of his time these days. “Now, I’m just kind of a stay-at-home dad. I stay at home and do very little,” Adam told Ellen. “Just to be able to stop in this moment to spend time with my new, young family, to just have the greatest time ever.”

As much as we loved seeing Adam on The Voice for 16 seasons, knowing he left to spend more time with his family is super sweet. The best part? He’s enjoying every minute of it. “I’m obsessed with them,” the Grammy-winner gushed over his two daughters, Dusty Rose, 3, and Gio Grace, 19 months.

“I mean, I know that’s a good thing because they’re my children, but like, that’s why I don’t do much because I love hanging out [with them],” Adam continued. “I genuinely adore them in a way that I never knew I could adore any little person.”

If that’s not the cutest thing you’ve ever heard from a celebrity parent, we don’t know what is! As it happens, though, Adam’s oldest kiddo isn’t too pleased that her dad is always around, especially if he’s playing music.

“Yeah, you know, you’d think she’d like when I sang to her. She doesn’t like it that much. I wish I was lying,” Adam admitted. “There was one moment that I spent with her with my guitar where she was playing with stuff and looking up every once and awhile. And I’m like, ‘Oh my god, it’s working! She’s loving this.’ I was auditioning for my daughter, which is ridiculous. We were having fun. And finally, she looked at me, she touched the guitar and was like, ‘Put that down.'”

Hmmm, maybe it’s just your music, Adam. Try playing Dusty Rose some of Blake’s music! *Inserts fire emoji because Adam just got burned.*
