Bruno Sialelli Reintreprets Lanvin Universe in Autumn/Winter 2019 Campaign

As the pre-existing notion of visual hierarchies fade away, Creative Director of Lanvin, Bruno Sialelli reinterprets Lanvin universe with a postmodern remix of classicism through gestures and associations. Lensed by the British photographer Glen Luchford, the Autumn/Winter 2019 collection “Mystic Pilgrims” is re-contextualised from the runway show inside the medieval halls of the Musée de Cluny into a detached, atmospheric otherworld. Luchford takes cues from traditions in painting and photography from 1960s Narrative Figuration to Renaissance portraiture. Spontaneous, romantic moments emerge, as models Kat Carter, Freek Iven, Dotain Yashitela, Jeranimo Van Russel and Sara Grace Wallerstedt personify a new cast of Lanvin characters bathed in the collection’s Pre-Raphaelite colour palette accented by pure elements of modern décor – from velvet cushions to welcoming yellow alcoves. Complementing the singular beauty of cinematic portraits, ambient group vignettes evoke new dialogues between the Lanvin woman and man, whilst the season’s illuminated manuscript and folkloric prints impart layers of figurative meaning throughout. From satin draped gowns to the heart-collared pea coat, the campaign reveals the Autumn/Winter 2019 collection’s innately French sensuality.
