Flowers have always been a favourite motif for jewellery designers, but for Roman master jeweller Bvlgari they represent more than the beauty of Mother Nature. Fiore, as they’re known in Italian, also symbolise the passion for life of the Eternal City’s residents. To celebrate that spirit, along with the dazzling glamour of diamonds, Bvlgari has created a new collection that establishes the flower as an official symbol of the brand.
Fiorever – a marriage of fiore and forever – is centred around a delicate bloom that can be found on several Roman landmarks, including the garden frescoes of Villa di Livia, the sculptures of Palazzo Massimo and the ceiling mosaics of the Santa Costanza Mausoleum. The motif, whose appearance can in fact be traced to the ancient city of Pompeii and has come to represent Eternity itself, has been recreated on rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings, in white or rose gold with the highest-quality diamonds.
The flower that inspired the collection is made up of eight petals in a nod to the numeral that’s universally associated with good fortune. On the jewellery pieces, the petals are designed to tilt upward around the central stone and tempt the wearer to touch it like they would an actual flower.
Fiorever was unveiled in October at a celebrity-studded event that also served to announce Úrsula Corberó as Bvlgari’s newest ambassador. The launch, held at the Bvlgari Resort Dubai, was hosted by CEO Jean-Christophe Babin and attended by Bvlgari brand ambassadors Lady Kitty Spencer, Hikari Mori and Nadine Nassib Njeim, as well as a select group of international media and influencers.
Corberó, who’s worked in Rome and describes it as the most beautiful city she’s ever seen, is the face of the Fiorever collection in the latest Bvlgari advertisements. When asked what her favourite pieces were, she selected two: “The shoulder jewellery (poncho) and the combination of the fringed earring with the earring that envelops the entire ear. The shoulder jewellery makes you feel as if you’re wearing a second skin of diamonds, and the earrings are very stylish and bring a lot of light to the face.”
