The Croisette, the red carpet leading up the steps of the Palais des Festivals and the entrance of the infamous beachfront Martinez Hotel, as always, will be the go-to spots for spying celebrities.
But they won’t be the only hot spots this time around. A look at where the stars will be partying starting next week.
Le petit bar @ Grey Goose’s Dry Martini
Beachfront, along the Jetée Albert Edouard Sud, the vodka giant will set up a tiny bar for two, by invitation only. From May 14-18, this intimate spot will serve up dry martinis exclusively.
Despite a new theme for this year, the Grey Goose area will maintain the same signature blue look that lit up the Croisette last year.
Mouton Cadet Wine Bar
Nicole Kidman, Robert DeNiro, Eva Longoria… the Mouton Cadet Wine Bar will attract everyone’s favorite A-listers to the roof of the Palais des Fetsivals. Two terraces with an outdoor bar, two indoor seating areas and a beauty-room make up this coveted destination.
Those lucky enough to snag an invite to the dinners or private events hosted here will enjoy amazing Mouton Cadet bottles with a view to match.
Plage Nespresso (Nespresso Beach)
The Nespresso capsule will be under the spotlight in Cannes with its very own beach, located between the JW Mariott and the Carlton Hotel.
One of the highlights will be the “Les chefs font leur cinema” (Chefs Create Their Cinema) event series at which three highly regarded chefs (Yves Camdeborde, Chistophe Dufau and Florent Layden) will reimagine their favorite films as culinary wonders for 60 guests per night.
Chef Yves Camdeborde, for example, will transport the Maurice Pialat film “Under Satan’s Sun” to the plate via a fra diavola style hen and a coffee flavored “religieuse,” a traditional French pastry of two cream filled choux whose name means “nun.”
The Nespresso beach will also host the closing party for the “Semaine de la critique” on May 21. The rest of the time, the beach will be used as a venue for celebrity interviews.
Plage Magnum (Magnum Beach)
From May 13-24, everyone’s favorite ice cream bar will set up shop on a private beach on the boulevard de la Croisette. The face of the brand, Miranda Kerr, will be on hand for opening night.
Official events celebrating films from the Festival are also scheduled to take place, so it’s a safe bet to assume that some recognizable faces will be headed to Magnum Beach. In addition, Magnum is bringing back its creation station where you can fashion your own customized ice cream bar.
La Cucina S. Pelligrino (The San Pelligrino Kitchen)
From May 13-22, two steps from the Croisette, the sparkling water brand is opening a pop-up chef’s table presided over by Michelin-starred talent.
Mauro Colagreco, Ronan Kervarrec, Jacques Chibois, Stéphanie Le Quellec, Nicolas Navarro, Michel Roth and Cyril Lignac have all pledged to get behind the burners.
Every day at lunch, the Festival’s stars will come delight their palates with the culinary offerings of the renowned chefs who will each present their take on Italian cuisine. In the afternoons, the terrace will welcome camera crews shooting interviews and various segments. Come night, the spot will finally open to the public.
