Carbone

Carbone is an Italian-American restaurant located in New York’s Greenwich Village neighborhood. The retro-designed spot features tile flooring and wooden walls covered in vintage-esque mirrors and artwork. Red leather banquettes line the walls and waiters dressed in maroon tuxedos serve red-sauce-centric pasta dishes to well-heeled New Yorkers. Known for its spicy rigatoni alla vodka, veal parmesan and meaty dishes, there are few better — and chicer — places in New York to indulge in pasta. It’s nearly impossible to get in and when you do, you feel like you’re part of an exclusive club — the buzzy spot is noisy and almost clubby, and sort of feels like you’re in a restaurant that wouldn’t feel out of place on The Godfather. The restaurant celebrates old-school Italian cooking and has a great wine list and list of aperitivos. It’s owned by Major Food Group, the same restaurant group who owns Sadelle’s Dirty French, Parm and Santina, so you know the service will be fantastic and the food and beverage programs will keep you coming back again and again. If you can’t get in, you can still order it for delivery (but we can’t promise it’ll be the same as the real thing).
