Over 120, cereal boxes lay side by side across the back walls, those that are from all around the world. There are killer combos that make the usual morning cereal far from being boring. Cereal Killer café in Brick lane is the first café in the UK to dedicate themselves to all things cereal. Founded by two brothers the Keery brothers have been successful and now have a new branch in the Camden stables.
I visited just before the end of 2015 with friends who lived in the local area. Usually when I walk past I look in and the place is always packed and beaming with people. Retro memorabilia takes you back to a trip down memory lane, nostalgia feelings of seeing old toys from my childhood.
The choice of 120 cereal’s seems endless and would have taken me forever to read each one, let alone the 20 milk varieties. So I went on to order from the cereal cocktail selection.
The Bananarama £4.60 appealed to me the most, mini banana Weetabix, chopped fresh bananas, squeezed with Nutella and foam banana sweets served in a clear bowl with a bottle of banana flavoured milk. The crazy banana flavour assortment was a joy to eat with the hazelnut chocolateness from the Nutella.
Ok, the real reason that possessed me to go to a place dedicated to all things cereal was the images popping on my instagram feed of the Cereal Killer stacked hot chocolate £3.90.
I ordered the peanut butter one and took a good 10 minutes taking photo’s before tackling it.
Something that resembles an overflowing beer jug whipped cream dripping to the sides with pieces of Reese cereal, peanut butter sauce, parked on top of the cloud of whipped cream a piece of Reese chocolate cup. It’s not for the faint hearted, nor for sipping so grab a spoon and take it on.
