I love it when my friends take me to hidden discoveries, My Old Place, is hidden behind Liverpool Street, unless you knew of the place you wouldn’t wonder around that area.
Upon entering the restaurant, the place is packed with diners, as we booked a table for 8-9 people we were seated downstairs. It may resemble a dungeon downstairs, but this is where large parties are seated with big round tables. Reminding me of days I eat at home with the whole family, very cosy and intimate.
The service of the place can be very bad, we was given menus and no waiters/waitress came back to our table even after 20 mins of sitting around. The menu is extensive with a lot on offer, most dishes cost around £7-8 mark and the amount you get for the portion is incredible enough to feed the 8 of us. Lamb skewers are a must for only £1 each and our bellies was very satisfied from the feast.
My favourite dishes, was the cola wings, Aubergine, and the sweet and sour fish. It was very tasty, full bodied with flavour; this place is best to visit with a group of more then 4 people. Even with 8 people we had a lot of food left over.
