With 14 patents pending and 14 indications on the watch, Chopard’s new L.U.C certainly lives up to its name, the All-in-One. On the blue/gray solid-gold dial, in addition to the hours and minutes, the watch has a tourbillon escapement with small seconds at 6 o’clock; perpetual calendar with the day, date, month and leap year displayed around the dial; and double-window big-date display at 12 o’clock. On the reverse side of the watch, there is an astronomical calendar, equation of time, day/night indication, displays for sunrise and sunset, and even an orbital moonphase indication. The brand’s in-house-made L.U.C 05.01-L movement, with an incredible 516 parts, powers the 46mm platinum watch. The COSC-certified chronometer movement, which also holds the Hallmark of Geneva, is equipped with four mainspring barrels resulting in 170 hours of power reserve. It’s no surprise that such a complicated
watch is limited to only 10 pieces.
