It’s clear that Chrissy Metz is talented AF, which is why she’s branching out and trying new things. The 39-year-old loves acting, but she’s taking time to focus on one of her other passions: music.
“I’m working on some personal music in the country space, which is very exciting,” she exclusively told Life & Style at Last Chance For Animals’ 35th Anniversary Gala on Saturday, October 19. “It’s been my little girl dream, so working and cowriting on music. Hopefully, I’ll have some new music come out in the new year and just cultivate and write scripts and try to sell intellectual property of stories that mean something to me.”
Most recently, the This Is Us actress released “I’m Standing With You” for the film Breakthrough, which she also stars in. The track is a pop ballad that perfectly shows off Chrissy’s amazing pipes. While taking the country route is definitely super different, we’re sure she’ll do great at that, too.
Chrissy is a natural entertainer, but she didn’t expect her career to turn out the way it did. “I don’t know if I knew I’d be here, I thought that I was sensitive and empathic and emotional for a reason. I just didn’t know how that was going to be,” she said. “I didn’t know it would be this. I thought that I would tell stories of some sort. I didn’t know it would be on TV.”
She’s been in the entertainment industry since 2005, and thanks to This Is Us, Chrissy rose to fame. Being in the spotlight can be a lot for the brunette beauty, but she has ways of dealing with it all. “I meditate, I pray, I journal, I reach out to friends, I just make sure I let my feelings known,” she revealed. “There’s such a taboo with that because you’re like, no I don’t want to feel weak. I don’t want to appear that I don’t have it all together, but I don’t think any of us have it together. Right? We all need each other to get it together and that’s the beauty of just being honest.”
Well said, girl!
