Christian Lacroix lights things up with Forestier

Frondaison chandelier

The home division of Maison Lacroix is collaborating on a collection with lighting company Forestier.

This collaboration has birthed four pieces: the Frondaison chandelier, the Jeune Pousse table lamp, the Branchages wall lamps and the Arbuste floor lamp. They are dressed in Christian Lacroix cloth, edited by Designers Guild.

The two print options are Canopy, a graphic recreating a trellis and colorful tropical flowers, and Barbade, a graphic print of wickerwork weaving.

The lamps, halfway between craftsmanship and design, are the creations of Sacha Walckhoff. “We had fun trying to come up with lighting objects that evoked plant life but also had very contemporary lines,” he adds.

Founded in 1987, the Christian Lacroix couture house moved away from fashion in the 2000s, though the designer continues to create outfits for the performing arts. His name is still used for the stationery and decoration lines.

Forestier, a French lighting company, has collaborated with renowned designers before, including Christian Ghion.
